Pasta Packaging
Designing Packaging with a Language Barrier in Mind.
For this project I was tasked with designing cohesive packaging for a line of pasta with 3 varieties: original, gluten free, and organic whole wheat.
It is important to consider accessibility and how information can be communicated in a way that breaks barriers. In this case, a language barrier of English as an additional language was the challenge. To align with this issue, I developed simplified packaging with vibrant accents to indicate special dietary needs, a window to see the product inside, and an Italian flag on the base to help communicate that this product was made in Italy. Additional internationally-known icons indicate if it is certifid gluten free or organic, reassuring customers that may not be able to read the English text on the packaging.
